5G/6G Rollouts – Are They Living Up to the Hype?
When 5G first hit the headlines, it promised lightning-fast speeds, near-zero latency, and the ability to power everything from smart cities to autonomous vehicles. Now, with 6G discussions already in the pipeline, many are asking: Has 5G delivered on its promises?
The reality is a mixed bag:
✅ Faster speeds are a reality in many urban areas, but rural and remote regions are still catching up.
✅ IoT ecosystems are expanding, but widespread adoption is slower than anticipated.
✅ Business applications like edge computing and private 5G networks are showing real potential but require significant investment.
As for 6G, the buzzwords are even bigger: terabit-per-second speeds, AI-driven networks, and immersive holographic experiences. But we’ve been here before. Will the next generation truly transform industries, or will it be another incremental step?
What do you think? Has 5G lived up to its hype so far, and are we ready for 6G?
